Pictureplane Pictureplane Pictureplane. The hour for the release of his next album entitled Thee Physical is still nearly two fully months away. But there's plenty to keep me (and y'all) going in the meantime.
Travis Egedy has just dropped both the track 'Real Is a Feeling' and the video, both of which showcase a more evolved (and ever more fantastic) Pictureplane than what was on his last LP offering of Dark Rift. The last couple of mixtapes Egedy delivered were full of gems, one of which was rammed with Bsides taken from the upcoming Thee Physical which was produced by our beloved HEALTH's Jupiter Keyes. And like I said before, if those were the ones that didn't make the cut, I can't wait to hear the ones that did. So here's one that made it:
For some reason this Pictureplane track has the atmosphere of being a little bit more relaxed than I've heard before. It sounds good on Pictureplane; alongside the almost shyly coaxed out vocal floating over the top of his strong and scuzzy beats make a killer combination. Check the video below too, directed by Sterling Crispin and art directed by Travis himself, it casually shows Travis and a slew of local Denver creative/music types getting their art on in a vaguely fetishistic fashion. Cute.
BONUS: Egedy's only just started kicking out the mixtapes; and even though the transitions are less than smooth, the selection is pretty killer. Here's another one to promote 'Real Is A Feeling', funnily enough entitled The Real Is A Feeling Promomix. No tracklist on this steez, but the kid is mashing up Crystal Castles with Rihanna's Rude Boy then dropping Kingdom straight after - that takes mad skills. It gets a little rave intense for a bit down the track after that, but it's all part of the journey, man. Anyway, you don't need a tracklist, go GEDDIT:
